Assessment sub-task 1

You are required to write a reflective discussion of 1,000 words, in which you critically analyse, evaluate and apply different ideas and techniques linked entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial thinking and the individual, the entrepreneurship process and entrepreneurship and society.

Within your reflective discussion, ensure that you show evidence that you have evaluated, assessed, and developed your understanding, skills and mindset linked to entrepreneurship, and have related these to personal development and career goals and plans. Please ensure that you have engaged with and critically analysed the literature by including citations in your reflective discussion.

• You may decide to define and discuss the concept of entrepreneurship and how the issues connected to this have influenced you as an entrepreneurial
• You may decide to discuss issues such as entrepreneurial personality trait theory, or entrepreneurial opportunity creation and recognition, or the new venture creation process, and how these issues relate to you as an entrepreneurial
• You may decide to discuss how you will use the entrepreneurial knowledge and skills that you have acquired whilst preparing the business plan in your future career or workplace, and how will you further develop this knowledge, and these skills?

The reflective discussion can contain a mixture of 1st and 3rd person writing, 1st person when you are reflecting on your own knowledge experience and skills linked to entrepreneurship, 3rd person when you are presenting and critically analysing the theory and literature.

Assessment sub-task 2

The second assessment task for this module is a 2,000-word business plan, and a 500-word reflective log.

This plan (2000 words) will provide

• details of the business,
• industry and market analysis,
• customer analysis and value proposition,
• an operations and management plan,
• an appreciation of the financial

Please ensure that you show that you have engaged with the literature whilst developing your business plan, by including citations. You may also want to cite industry-based research and data.

In the reflective log (500 words) you will reflect on yourself as an entrepreneurial individual in relation to the learning and development that has taken place while developing the business plan for this module. You could consider the following –

The purpose of this assessment is to assess your ability to employ concepts and theory from the field of entrepreneurship practice, and to show that you can develop a business plan.

Preparing a business model

1. Business idea: General delivery services. To Pick up order and deliver at door step

Problem: This idea came as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, due to the compulsory changes caused, people are reluctant to appear in public places such as malls, markets, restaurant and have now become accustomed to buying online, be it food, clothe, shoes, accessories etc. and now door step delivery is on a very high demand.

• Prospective customers/target market: Older citizens: who are the most vulnerable, office workers of all age: who must limit how much they move around to avoid being infected, and students:

3. Value proposition e.g. Niche differentiation, price leadership:  to synergies with small shops that sells and to deliver all customer orders such as food, groceries, clothe, etc. in a timely manner.

The customer can tracker his/her order to its delivery point as it will be monitored by both parties,

4. Key partner: the shop owners, the dispatch riders and van/bike owners

5. Key resources available: An internet computer, small shops that sell either foods, groceries, clothes, accessories etc.

6. Key Resources Required: a van, a bike, drivers, payment will be commission based as we are all in partnership

An App (to manger the whole process)

7. Key operating activities: synergies with shops owner, and independent delivery bikers and van to establish an app jointly programed for orders up to the point of delivery on a timely manner

8. Critical success factors: A website, an App that will control the entire process, social media market such as pop-up ads on Facebook, Instagram, etc.

9. Risk involved: theft of van or bike, damaged goods belonging to customer, third party injuries

10. Potential Profitability and approximate breakeven timescale:

Procured cost; Cost to establish an app (10,000 pounds) and operational cost vs profit

Payment shall be on commission bases (sharing formula as the business is just starting)
