The aim of this assessment is to build your research skills within an industry context of a specific country and in an area of global management.

Research Brief:

Your group is a management group, in a specific industry of a multinational organisation. Your group has been asked, by the Board of Directors, to research a country with the view of expanding their business operations.

Your group will be allocated a specific country, industry (for example, agriculture, technology, manufacturing, pharmaceutical etc.) and a management topic to research for the organisations proposed expansion.

Your research should include the business environment such as the cultural, political, economic, legal and technological environment of the country. Your group will need to make important decisions about what the Board needs to know about the country, in the context of the industry they are in, that would help them make a decision whether to expand their operations or not.

Your research needs to use a critical perspective of doing business in that country. For example, you will need to think about the advantages and disadvantages of doing business there and how will this influence the management topic you have been allocated.
