The Development of management theory to the present has grown rapidly but until this moment there are not yet a theory which can be applied in various situations and conditions.<\/p>\n

The management itself has many views, which are different in its applicationwhereas for the different problems are not necessarily applicable.In this assignment, I will only focus on three management theory, Classical management theory andModern management theory.<\/p>\n

There are three reasons why we need to learn management theory\u2026\u2026<\/p>\n

First, the theory can give directions in taking decision.\u2026\u2026<\/p>\n

Secondly, form a view about the organisation and the business environment\u2026\u2026<\/p>\n

Thirdly, it allows us to communicate ideas efficiently to deal in complex problems.<\/p>\n

Therefore, to take decisions effectivelyin a business or organisation, we need a leader or manager to achieve organisational goals.\u2026\u2026<\/p>\n

A leader or a manager uses others in achieving its objectives and not doing everything by himself.\u2026\u2026<\/p>\n

First of all Classical management theory or structural theory is originally derived from two theories.<\/p>\n

In this classical management theory it will be based on some key principles as the following:1. Division of labour, 2. Authority and responsibility.3. Unity of command..\u2026\u2026<\/p>\n

Furthermore, we also see the theory of bureaucracy..\u2026\u2026<\/p>\n

The management in which has been described above yet until now still growing..\u2026\u2026<\/p>\n

The development process of management theory continues to evolve which we can see from five sides.\u2026\u2026<\/p>\n

In the end, management theory has evolved into a modern management theory..\u2026\u2026<\/p>\n

Organisational theory and modern management has been developed since 1950, the modern theory, with emphasis on integration and design, provide fulfilmentof comprehensive needs.\u2026\u2026<\/p>\n

Purpose of general systems theory is the creation of a universal organisation science by using the elements and processes are common throughout the system as a starting point.\u2026\u2026<\/p>\n

Modern organisational theory is not only a framework as it perhaps the most useful in studying systems of business organisationin which looking at the organisation as a whole..\u2026\u2026<\/p>\n

Managers today are required to learn and understand all the management theories because a manager must be able to choose the most appropriate theory to deal with in certain situations.\u2026\u2026<\/p>\n

The reasons to learn and study the development of thismanagement will be described below.\u2026\u2026<\/p>\n

From the description above there is a questionmight arises, which management theory is most appropriately used in accordance to manager role.\u2026\u2026<\/p>\n

According to this approach, managers can use the most suitable technique for particular situations and circumstances in realisation of managementpurpose.\u2026\u2026<\/p>\n

However it should be noted thatthe success of a manager’s role is not only determined by the expertise of management theory.\u2026\u2026<\/p>\n

Therefore, the manager’s success can also depend on the balance of the combination of abilities, motivations and opportunities they have..\u2026\u2026<\/p>\n

Apart from all of this, it seems that modern management theory can be more flexible than the classical management theory.\u2026\u2026<\/p>\n

In overall it can be concluded that suitable and good management theory is required by a manager as leader of a company to achieve organisational goals. With the development of a theory of management, decision-making is expected to be done efficiently and effectively by structuring the organisation as in the case of delegating work to colleagues and subordinates to work optimally.<\/p>\n

But it should be recalled that each management theory has its advantages and disadvantages,therefore manager\u2019s skills is required to choose the most suitable theory in solving problems.<\/p>\n
